wpeA.jpg (48306 bytes)"Buffalo Woman" is a life-size bronze sculpture expressing my interpretation and feelings of the native American Indians of the high plains. Her strength and yet her gentleness may be  like that found in the woman of that era. Like the buffalo, she has the spirit and knowledge of the land on which they thrive. The sculpture indicates the blend of the traditional buckskin clothing and trade items of the white mans world. To have earned the title "Buffalo Woman" would be a great honor as well as a tribute. The buffalo were found in many areas throughout the great plains. Its parts and symbols reach ever beyond. Many cultures whether from the east or west were made better because of the buffalo. " White buffalo Cow Woman" brought the sacred pipe to the Indian as "Buffalo Woman" brings the symbol of furtility from mother earth. The child is symbolic of re-newel of a great people who can walk with pride and live in harmony with the land.
